From the corner of his ceiling, a red laser sight—the signature mark of a Shadow Complex seeker—settled right on his chest. He realized then that the "Free Download" wasn't a game being installed on his PC. He was being uploaded into the Complex.
As he navigated deeper into the base, the sound design shifted. The mechanical hum of the facility was replaced by a wet, rhythmic thud—like a giant heart beating behind the walls.
The screen didn't show the standard Chair Entertainment logo. Instead, the monitor flickered into a dull, pulsing blue. A single line of text crawled across the bottom: “The complex is already open. You just have to walk in.” The Glitch
The power in the room killed over. In the sudden darkness, the only light came from the glowing blue LED on Jason’s computer tower. It was blinking in a pattern—Morse code for "RUN."
Suddenly, a guard appeared on screen. Jason raised his weapon, but the guard didn't fight back. The NPC walked right up to the "camera," pressed its face against the glass of the monitor, and whispered through Jason's desktop speakers: "Thanks for the invite." The Aftermath
Jason reached for his phone to use the flashlight, but his hand hit something cold, metallic, and smooth. It felt exactly like the armor plating of the Omega Suit.
