The story follows (Ben Affleck), the leader of a proficient bank-robbing crew. During a robbery, the group takes bank manager Claire Keesey (Rebecca Hall) hostage, eventually releasing her unharmed. Fearing she might identify them, Doug begins to follow her, but the two unexpectedly fall in love.
