Back in the present, King faces Helbram once again—who has been resurrected through dark magic. Despite Helbram using the combined power of other Holy Knights, King manages to defeat him. In his final moments, Helbram reveals that a helmet he once possessed was meant to be a gift for King. As Helbram dies a second time, he finally finds peace. The episode concludes with a shift in focus to the capital:

Upon reaching the village, King finds a massacre. He realizes that the man with the eyepatch was killed long ago by Helbram, who then assumed that man's form to exact a 500-year-long revenge against all of humanity. To stop the slaughter, King is forced to kill his best friend by piercing him with a white rose. Heartbroken and carrying the weight of Helbram's sins, King allows himself to be captured and sentenced to 1,000 years in prison for the village's destruction.
