Determined to save his passenger, Solo spends the next two weeks attempting to befriend William and re-ignite his will to live. The story follows (Souléymane Sy Savané), a cheerful and optimistic Senegalese taxi driver. He picks up William (Red West), a stoic, elderly white man who offers Solo $1,000 to drive him to the top of Blowing Rock mountain in two weeks. Solo quickly deduces that William does not intend to return and is planning to commit suicide.
