Skip Beat! Episode 1, titled "And the Box was Opened," sets up a high-stakes revenge story masked as a romantic comedy. The episode introduces 16-year-old Kyoko Mogami, who has dedicated her life to supporting her childhood friend and crush, Sho Fuwa, in becoming a famous pop idol, only to be cruelly betrayed.
