He took her cold hands in his and squeezed them. "I promise, Rea. I won't let you lose yourself. We'll find a way. Together." Yet, the emotion pouring out of them was intensely alive

It was a scent that had become his entire world. Rea Sanka sat at the edge of his bed, her pale, porcelain skin glowing faintly in the dim moonlight filtering through the window. Lately, the hydrangeas weren't working as well. Chihiro watched her closely, his heart tightening. The dosage of the poisonous leaves in her regular meals had to be increased just to keep her motor functions stable.
