Born in Soviet Dagestan in 1982, Mark moved to Israel as a child with his parents—his father a composer and his mother a violinist. While he grew up surrounded by music, his life changed forever at age 16 when he heard a recording of the (an ancient spiked fiddle) by master Habil Aliyev.
