Valentine continues to work as a professor of bioengineering at the University of Cambridge, where she leads a team of researchers working on various projects related to bioengineering and fluid dynamics. Her current research focuses on the development of new technologies for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases, including cancer and cardiovascular disease.
After completing her Ph.D., Valentine worked as a research fellow at the University of Cambridge. In 2002, she was appointed as a lecturer in the Department of Engineering at the University of Cambridge, where she taught and conducted research in the areas of fluid dynamics and bioengineering.
In 2019, Valentine made history by becoming the first female professor of engineering at the University of Cambridge. She was appointed as a professor of bioengineering and leads the Bioengineering Laboratory at the University of Cambridge.
