Keiichi Sokabe is a veteran of the Japanese indie scene, best known as the frontman of Sunny Day Service , a band that rose to fame in the 1990s by reinterpreting 1970s Japanese folk and rock. Since founding ROSE RECORDS in 2004, he has maintained a prolific DIY career, spanning solo acoustic sets, hip-hop, and film scores.
Released in August 2022, is an ambient instrumental album by Japanese singer-songwriter Keiichi Sokabe that marks a radical departure from his usual lyric-driven pop and rock. The album was composed and recorded almost entirely in semi-consciousness while Sokabe was bedridden with a high fever after contracting COVID-19 in late July 2022.
