The seeds for the collection were sown in the summer of 2020 when the duo performed at the in Amsterdam. The positive reception and their shared adventurous approach to improvisation led them to record a full album at Studio Theemsweg a year later. While eight of the tracks were studio-recorded, the album includes a live performance of Horace Silver's "Peace" from their original Bimhuis set.
