The story begins in the desert of Sedona, Arizona, where (Heston Horwin), a mild-mannered real estate agent, discovers a bloodied woman named Marakya (Michaella Russell) being attacked. After Alex intervenes and scares off her attacker, Marakya reveals she is an undocumented immigrant from Africa.

She explains that her former immigration lawyer, (Taylor Flowers), uses his law practice as a front for a sex-trafficking operation. Marakya was forced into the ring to pay off legal fees and was targeted for assassination after learning too much.
