The story centers on a painter named Žíla and his wife, Žílová , who are nervously awaiting three mysterious guests: a teacher ( Láďa ), a former convict ( Bedřich ), and a sexologist ( Dr. Turnovský , also known as Pepa). As the evening progresses over drinks and dinner, it is revealed that these three men are actually the long-lost children of the Žíla couple, whom the parents had "scattered" throughout the world in their youth.
