Digital design allows for precise grid control, which is key to the Ben-Day look.

Select the area you want to shade and click your new swatch.

Photoshop uses filters to convert gradients into dots, known as "halftones." Select the layers you want to stylize. Apply Filter: Go to Filter > Pixelate > Color Halftone .

This controls the dot size; larger radii look more vintage.
