14 : Luffy Back In Action! Miss Kaya's Desperat... Here

Buchi and Sham provide a unique challenge for Zoro. Their "sneaky" fighting style serves as a great foil to Zoro’s brute-force swordsmanship, though it does make you itch to see him finally get his swords back and go full throttle.

The animation in this episode captures the "creepy" aesthetic of Captain Kuro’s crew well. The stakes feel personal because of Usopp’s connection to the village, making every minor victory feel earned. 14 : Luffy Back in Action! Miss Kaya's Desperat...

Is this for a or a long-time fan looking back? Buchi and Sham provide a unique challenge for Zoro

While the pacing of the Syrup Village arc can feel a bit slow compared to later sagas, Episode 14 is a shot of adrenaline. It successfully transitions the story from the planning phase into the heat of battle. Rating: 7.5/10 If you’d like to tweak this review , let me know: The stakes feel personal because of Usopp’s connection

The "Desperate Resistance" mentioned in the title refers to Miss Kaya finally confronting Kuro. Seeing such a gentle character stand up to the man she considered family is emotionally resonant and adds much-needed weight to the conflict.

Luffy’s "accidental" contribution to the fight—waking up and immediately using the mast of the ship as a weapon—is classic early One Piece . It perfectly balances his goofiness with his overwhelming physical power.
